Live activity

Illustrative sample data. Your own sites and assets appear here.
01 / Map view

Click a block to zoom in.

Each site is a block, and the blocks inside it are its locations. The bigger the block, the more assets it holds. Click a site to see its locations and sections, then click again to see every asset in a location. Try it below with a sample portfolio.

Tip: click any block to zoom in. Use − to zoom out.

Illustrative sample data. Names, counts and statuses are made up to show how the map works.

02 / Needs attention

Know where to look first.

Next to the map, a Needs Attention list collects the locations that need action, with the reasons. Filter it by reason, or switch on "Only show these" to hide everything else on the map.

Down

Assets that are not running. Shown in red on the map and counted at the top.

Faulty

Assets that are running with a fault reported, so they can be fixed before they stop.

PM overdue

Locations where planned maintenance has passed its due date.

Awaiting response

Reported issues that no one has responded to yet.

Open 30+ days

Jobs that have stayed open for more than 30 days and need a push.

03 / How it is organised

The same structure as your asset register.

Asset Map follows the way your assets are already set up in yCloudx: sites contain locations, locations contain sections, and every asset sits in a section. Nothing extra to draw. Keep the register tidy and the map stays accurate.

04 / Two ways to look

Map view for detail. 3D World for the big picture.

Switch between a flat map of blocks and a 3D World where each site becomes a block of buildings. Group by place or by type group, and colour by type group or by live status.

Nested blocks for sites, locations and sections, sized by asset count. Status badges on each block show how many assets are down, faulty or under PM. Click to zoom in, and use the controls to zoom back out.

3D World

Your portfolio as a small city. Each site is a block of buildings, one building per location, so you can see at a glance where most of your assets are. Available in dark and light mode.

05 / Floor Plan & GIS Map

Need the exact spot? Open the floor plan.

Asset Map shows where assets sit in your structure. When the team needs the physical spot, the Floor Plan & GIS Map module places assets on your uploaded floor plans and on Google Maps.

  • Uploaded layouts. Pin assets on your own floor plans and site layouts.
  • Google Maps. Place sites and outdoor assets on the map.
  • Pins that blink. A pin blinks when its asset has an issue, so it is easy to spot.

FAQ

Asset Map questions

What is the yCloudx Asset Map?

Asset Map is a visual view of every asset in yCloudx, organised by site, location and section. You can see it as a map of blocks that you click to zoom into, or as a 3D World where each site is a block of buildings.

How is the map organised?

It follows your asset register: site, then location, then section, then asset. Each block is sized by the number of assets inside it, so the biggest blocks are where most of your assets are.

What do the colours mean?

You can colour the map by type group, such as fan coil unit, AHU or pump, with a legend of the largest groups. Or you can colour it by live status to highlight assets that are down, faulty or under PM.

What is the Needs Attention list?

It lists the locations that need action and the reasons: PM overdue, awaiting response, faulty, down, and jobs open for more than 30 days. You can filter the list by reason and choose to show only those locations on the map.

Can I search for an asset or location?

Yes. Use the search box to find a site, location, section or asset, and use the site filter to look at one site at a time. You can also group the map by place or by type group.

What is the 3D World view?

3D World shows your portfolio as a small city. Each site is a block of buildings, one for each location, coloured by asset type group. It is available in dark and light mode.

Is Asset Map the same as asset mapping on a floor plan?

No. Asset Map is the portfolio overview by site, location and section. The separate Floor Plan & GIS Map module places assets on your uploaded floor plans and on Google Maps, and pins blink when an asset has an issue. Many teams use both.

What do I need to use Asset Map?

Asset Map is built from the sites, locations, sections, assets and type groups you keep in yCloudx. The more complete and tidy those records are, the clearer the map will be. Our team can help you clean up and import your register.
