Type of leave
There are 9 types of leave:
- Annual Leave
- An allotted number of days that employee may use to be absent from work over the course of a year without losing pay
- Emergency Leave
- Meant for employees to take a personal absence from work if they need to handle any private affairs on short notice
- Medical Leave
- Type of leave afforded to employees of a company that face medical condition that hamper their physical or mental health and there are two types of medical leave which are:

- Medical Certificate (MC)
- Hospitalized

- Unpaid Leave
- Refers to time off from work during which an employee does not receive a salary for the length of their absence
- Replacement Leave
- When companies offer staff the opportunity to take a day off in exchange for working weekend or public holidays
- Compassionate Leave
- When employees take time off work because of something that’s happened in their personal life such as:

- Life threatening injury or illness of a relative or dependent
- The death of a close relative or dependent
- Last minute and unavoidable childcare emergencies

- When employees take time off work because of something that’s happened in their personal life such as:
- Maternity / Paternity Leave
- Maternity: A period of absence from work given to a mother before and after the birth of her child
- Paternity: A period of time that a father is legally permitted to be away from his work so that he can spend time with his new baby
- Time Off
- A period of time where an employee is not working for some hours. The employee may use this time to rest, travel or take care of their personal matters
- Time Slip
- A confirmation that the employee is given time to rest by the doctor after receiving treatment at clinic or hospital during that period
